Safety

The safety of our workers, our customers, and our customers pets is a primary concern of ours.  Many homeowners do not realize the dangers associated with painting a home.  Proper painter safety goes well beyond watching ones step on a ladder.  Care must be taken in the selection of a product to ensure the safety of everyone in the home, especially small children and pets. Contrary to popular belief, paint need not be lead-based to be poisonous.   Many products contain additives that may include dangerous mildewcides, insecticides and preservatives.  Hamel Painters is aware of and respects these dangers and others.  We work with our customers to ensure that every paint job is safe, long lasting, and beautiful.

Proper Application 

It is worth hiring a qualified professional just to ensure proper application of paint products.  First, it is important to measure the moisture content of the substrate to make sure it is below 10%. The surface must be free of any dust, stains or pollutants.  Different products have different specifications for appropriate surface temperature, relative humidity, and drying time between coats.  Certain stains can only be left on the surface for a few minutes before being wiped off and another product applied.  Oil products, latex products and alcohol products all have their own requirements.  When you hire Hamel Painters you can be sure all products will be applied properly.
